"TRUE KNOWLEDGE"

"For a week of years (7 years) the main body of the people shall cease to practice their religion; for half of that time (3½ years) sacrifice and offering shall cease, and instead of this there shall be an appalling abomination, till finally the appointed doom falls upon the sacrilegious abomination."  (Dan 9:27 Moffatt) (See Page 849).

""How long will the vision be of the constant feature and of the transgression causing desolation, to make both the holy place and the army things to trample on?" So he said to me: "Until two thousand three hundred evenings and mornings; and the holy place will certainly be brought into its right condition.""  (Dan 8:13,14).

"Therefore, when you catch sight of the disgusting thing that causes desolation, as spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in a holy place, (let the reader use discernment,) then let those in Judea begin fleeing to the mountains. Let  the man on the housetop not come down to take the goods out of his house… Keep praying that your flight may not occur in wintertime, nor on the sabbath day; for then there will be great tribulation such as has not occurred since the world's beginning until now, no, nor will occur again. In fact, unless those days were cut short, no flesh would be saved; but on account of the chosen ones those days  will be cut short."  (From Matt 24:15 22).

The "disgusting thing" are causing desolation by "trampling" upon remaining members of the 144,000 anointed "sanctuary" class of God. By removing this class and "standing in a holy place" themselves, they are removing the "constant feature" (Holy Spirit) during the "two thousand three hundred evenings and mornings" of Daniel 8:13,14.

"And there will be arms that will stand up, proceeding from him (satan); and they will actually profane the sanctuary, the fortress, and remove the constant feature. And they will certainly put in place the disgusting thing that is causing desolation."  (Dan 11:31).

'Reflecting on the new congregational arrangement providing for elders and ministerial servants, Roger Morgan was moved to say: "This is God's doing." Doubtless others will agree, since they may have considered the resulting benefits. The first shifting of responsibilities began in September 1972, and by October 1 the arrangement of things in most congregations had been adjusted.'  (1975 Yearbook of JWs. Pg.250).

'The governing body of Jehovah's witnesses sent each congregation an instructive letter about selecting the "body of elders," as well as ministerial servants. According to that letter of December 1, 1971, all baptized men of the congregation twenty years old and upward were considered. (Ezra 3:8).'

"But as for the courtyard that is outside the temple sanctuary, cast it clear out and do not measure it, because it has been given to the nations, and they will trample the holy city* underfoot for forty-two months."  (From Rev 11:1 3).

"It will be for an appointed time, appointed times and a half. And as soon as there will have been a finishing of the dashing of the power of the holy people* to pieces, all these things will come    to their finish."  (From Dan 12:7).

"Do you not know that you people are God's temple, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If  anyone destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him; for  the  temple* of God is holy, which  temple you people are."  (1 Cor 3:16,17).
