SALVATION
THROUGH THE "GOOD NEWS" It is important to explain the period of salvation through faith in the "good news" of The Christ. This period came to an end in July 1982. Those for whom this period of gathering was intended were gathered according to faith and have come to know God through the requirements of faith. (78) Others remaining over after the Lord's Judgement, will come to know God and give glory to Him out of fear. An indication of this was the "great earthquake" in Mexico City in 1985, when in fulfilment of Revelation 11:13 "a tenth of the city fell" and "seven thousand (names of men) were killed by the earthquake". Here is evidence that the opportunity of salvation through the "good news" of faith in The Christ has been replaced by the lesser opportunity of giving glory to God out of fear of calamitous events from God taking place on earth. (79) Included in such events are the drought and famine in Ethiopia and surrounding lands, (80) the gradual desolation of the spirits of the people of Lebanon, (81) and the fall of Babylon/Iraq. (82) Members of conflicting sects are terrorizing and killing each other. Through fire, storm, flood, war, plague and famine Almighty God is bringing calamity upon Godless ones sinning against His chosen people. (2 Esdras 15:1 to 16:78 NEB). In 1986, the "false prophet" of Band Aid, Sport Aid, and sectarian aid agencies inspired nations worldwide to "lend their aid" in contravention of the Will of God. (83) By this means they were gathered to the Judgement of God at "Jehoshaphat". (Joel 3:11,12). Another important event took place in 1982 to indicate that the opportunity to be gathered by faith in the "good news" of The Christ had ended: In September 1982 800 Palestinians civilians were massacred by Lebanese Phalangist forces in Beirut. Their way in was facilitated by the Israeli army. When these killers opened up "your doors, O Lebanon", the political leaders ("majestic ones") of Lebanon were "despoiled". (Zech 11:1,2). Of these forces it says, "they will certainly crush to pieces the land, and I shall do no delivering out of their hand." (11:6). There have been many battles between military factions in Lebanon crushing to pieces the land, and with "every man in the power of his neighbour". (11:6 NEB).
