"LOOK!   I  AM  SENDING  TO  YOU  PEOPLE  ELIJAH
THE PROPHET BEFORE THE COMING OF THE GREAT
AND  FEAR-INSPIRING  DAY  OF  JEHOVAH."  (Mal 4:5).

Scriptural events of the past and the spiritual realities by Elijah's Spirit
undergoing fulfilment today.
(1 Kings Chapters 17 & 18 and Col 2:17).

THE SHADOW:  Elijah tells Ahab: "As Jehovah the God of Israel before whom I do stand is living, there will occur during these years neither dew nor rain except at the order of my word!"  (1 Kings 17:1).

THE REALITY:  With reference to the Spirit of Elijah before the coming of the great and fear-inspiring day of Jehovah, there will be a period of years and months during which people will not receive from Jehovah spirit forming life giving instructions, only His denunciations. (Zech 12:1. Dan 8:19 & 9:27). In fact, there will be only "ostracism upon (spiritual) Israel", because "Ahab" men of the sect falsely calling themselves Jehovah's Witnesses have left the commandments of Jehovah and are following ba'al worship.  (ba'al: master, husbandly owner).  (1 Kings 18:17,18).

THE SHADOW:  Accordingly, Jehovah sent Elijah away to be concealed in the torrent valley of Che'rith where he was to receive water and food, "and the ravens I shall certainly command to supply you food there."  (17:3,4). "But it came about at the end of some days that the torrent valley became dry, because there had occurred no downpour on the earth."  (17:7).

THE REALITY:  At a specified time and place, concealed from "Ahab" men and their "Jezebel" wives, Spirit anointed servants of God with the same work before them as Elijah, "kept drinking" spiritual knowledge of the Will of God and His denunciation of ba'al worship, and were fed in the spiritual "wilderness" by the heavenly "woman" of God. (Rev 12:14). Interestingly, this writer with the Spirit of Elijah took up dwelling in Cwmbran, which means Crow Valley. (Raven: crow kind). "Ahab" men with ba'alist natures will become aware of the spiritual drought in the "land" (within themselves), and will seek new spiritual "food" ("green grass") to  save what is left.  (1 Kings 18:5.  Isaiah 29:7,8).

THE SHADOW:  Elijah met a widow in Zarephath, and requested from her a "sip of water" and a "bit of bread". At this she said, "I am gathering up a few pieces of wood, and I must go in and make something for myself and my son, and we shall have to eat it and die." (17:10-12). Elijah ordered that she make him a "cake first, and you must bring it out to me, and for yourself and your son you can make something afterward." (17:13). Jehovah told Elijah that the flour and oil "will not fail until the day of Jehovah's giving a downpour upon the surface of the ground."  (17:14).  On more than one occasion angels of Jehovah fed Elijah.  (19:6).

THE REALITY:  The "sip of water" and "bit of bread" signify that those with the Spirit of  Elijah have enough Spirit and spiritual "food" from Jehovah to survive spiritual drought. In accordance with the Spirit of Elijah, anointed sons of God know the spiritual refining work they have to do because of the apostasy and spirit of uncleanness in the "land". And just as Elijah was fed by angels of God, God's heavenly "woman" feeds those with the Spirit of Elijah. (Rev 12:14 & 17). The "cake" was to symbolize the future spiritual reality that faithful anointed sons of God are given spiritual knowledge from God first. The widow symbolizes the surviving wives of faithful anointed men who have passed away and that have a son who becomes spiritually "sick" and is about to die because of a lack of faith in the Spirit of Elijah and the Word of God as true.  (See 17:17,18).
